Stanford Shopping Center

:)
Stanford also has a shopping center. There are shops, shopping malls, cafes, etc. in it.

Starbucks !!

Shops...

This is Apple Store. They place an Ipad2 corresponding to each product.

Stanford Art Center

There is art center on the campus. It's called "Cantor Art Center".

Can you believe that the person on the right is a sculpture? His name is David.

This is the front door; however, it's too big to fit into this photo.

There is a interesting picture, isn't it?

This Morning

Cafe in the Bookstore

Being a Bike Coach

My new friend, JingSi, wasn't able to ride a bike. However, in order to join us, he brought a bike through Internet and decided to learn it from me.

Just about 10 min, he made it! And, this is also my first time to teach other people riding a bike.

Palo Atlo

My new friends and I spent almost the whole afternoon in Palo Atlo city. We went there by bike.

One of them bought a tennis rocket for his tennis courses of Stanford.

We also went to the market.

And, "Smoothy" again.

This bottle of Coke costed me $1.9. It's twice higher than the price of Coke in Taiwan.

The First Class

I took my first class, Programming Methodology, today. It was awesome. There was a student who was late for the class, and his computer started to play music during the class. Then, his phone started to ring just after the teacher saying "no iPhones". Therefore, the teacher was angry and kicked him out of the class.

And, it seemed that there was a problem of his microphone, which kept making strange sounds. The teacher was quite angry and went out of the class and checked whether mic was broken or not.

Then, the guy who was just got kicked out walked in the class with a good microphone, and showed the Facebook page to us on the screen. We finally figured out that it was just a joke, and that guy was another teacher.

This story told me that actually there is no rule in the class. You can talk, you can use your phones, you can use your Macs or laptops, you can do almost everything you want!

I think this was a really good lesson.

Church at Stanford

A big church is located on the middle of the campus, and a pipe organ is behind. There was somebody playing it while I was there.

People become very peaceful inside the church.

Hoover Tower

Hoover Tower is the most famous spot on the campus, I think. It was built to honor the president of America, Herbert Hoover. It's a old building with a traditional elevator.

There is a special piano on the top, which keys are connected to big bells.

There are the pictures I took from the top of the tower.

It's beautiful, isn't it?

The Book Store at Stanford

The is a three-floor book store at Stanford. There are lots of book on ground floor(of course). On the second floor, they sell Stanford clothes, Apple products, laptops, haagen-dazs, etc.

They also sell Stanford Iphone cases.

Campus Tour times 3

After the lunch, our menders gave us a campus tour; however, I took another tour on my own after it. And, I took one more tour with my new friend here at night. So, I totally took three campus tours today.

Stanford is really beautiful. Here are some photos:

My new friend.

This is the oval in front of the campus.

The building for Computer Science.

Is this a party?

And, Stanford has their own map system working with GPS, which allows me find the directions here. It's the reason that I don't get lost recently.

Shopping

After the breakfast this morning, we went to Walmart for shopping.

They sell everything we need.

Of course, including my favorite Coke.

Finally, my drawer is full of these things :D

The Campus and the Dorm

According to my research, Stanford is the second biggest college in the US. I totally think it's true. It's very easy to get lost here (for me).

There are churches, trees, bikes, and Macs on the campus.

I think there was a public speaking near my dorm this afternoon.

And, this is my dorm, where I will be living in for these two months.
